Umbrella
Umbrella
- this coverage is like an extra layer of insurance which sits atop a firms
underlying liability coverages, such as general liability, auto liability,
employers liability and professional liability.
The
purpose of the Umbrella is two-fold:
1) If a catastrophic claim wipes out a firm's underlying limits, the
Umbrella would drop down and become available.
2) Some Umbrellas may be more liberal in what they will insure against, so
you may find coverage under the Umbrella that may have been excluded under
the General Liability policy.
